Copycat Process!

Holy crap, I'm actually posting a process / progress wiki! Of course, it's not perfectly done, though. I didn't save various versions of it except for when I was tired of painting >_>

So anyhow, shaddap and be impressed that I posted anything at all XD

Needless to say, there's images on this page, omgwtf!

This is the pencil sketch I started out with. I wanted to try painting the clothing completely in photoshop, so I only sketched out the body and hair.

First progress image. The skin was driving me nuts here. I was trying to get details done, but it was fighting me the entire way. I had to restart a few times till I got it far enough to quit needing to paint over it again and again.

Second progress image. Here her hair is more like it was in the original sketch. Just the wrong color. There was much grumbling when it came out blonde instead of the brunette it was supposed to be. Larger detail image can be seen at <URL:stuff/ccfacedetail.jpg>

Third progress image. At this point I decided to change her hair style to being shorter and changed it to be more correct on the color. Which still wasn't quite right. However, this is closer to her original version (old images can be seen over at Elfwood). I also completely redid her eyes so they were more vibrant and had more depth to them. And she got some facial reconstruction.

Fourth progress image. Basically done, but missing the dragon in the background. Of course, I found a few things that I didn't like when I did all the final saves and resizings as well. So the final image has the things fixed that bugged me. This one is missing the fireflies at the bottom of the image (added to create a little balance in the image as the dragon made it top-heavy). Fixed her ray gun so the back end was more centered. Also added a little eye and face makeup.

Completed version. Progress image four states the differences and changes made (for the parts that aren't so obvious).

2008-04-13 [Calico Tiger]: Blah, one of my friends told me when she visited that she had the same problem. It wanted her to log in (which is free). But it shouldn't be an issue :-/ There's no nudity or violence in the image, don't know why it'd be an asshat about that. See if it lets you go to <URL:http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?username=calico_tiger> and click on the image manually from there. She said that sometimes works when clicking on the image link sometimes doesn't.

Oh and there's something not nice about you ruining your own art, Cali. I object that the first drawing up there lacks in anatomical correctness. I demand tits and pussy!

2008-04-14 [Calico Tiger]: *tacklehuggles* Thanks! The problem I find, though, is how long it takes >_< I kinda miss my images being done in one day. But... well, taking longer and putting more effort into it obviously is making a difference for me XD

2008-04-17 [Calico Tiger]: The dragon is some distance behind her XD I hoped that putting the misty clouds over it and make it not-very dark, and not much in the way of detail (other than some of the light), it'd help convey that. I apparently failed x_x Any suggestions on fixing?
