Welcome tay the Poet's Lounge. Relax, sit back, have a cup 'o tea (or coffee if yeh'd like), enjoy the atmosphere: scents, tastes, feelings and sounds, and share some poetry.

Yeh dinnae hafta rhyme or make na sense. But please try not to give o' take offence.

'Ello, I am [Mina Sol]. Though I me'self be not much of a poet, I welcome you all to share and collaborate here on me little wiki page 'o poetry. Interestin' thoughts are welcome, too, y'ken.

An a Merry Meeting, then a Blessed Be...

[Mina Sol]: Before I begin, I only ask that ye use dividers between yer poems.. so that newcomers have an easier time tellin' where one poem ends and another begins. You make dividers like this:
< h r >
without the spaces.
But enough talkin, eh? I su'pose I'll start things off...

"Here and now i recall
the bitter taste of my downfall
and disgrace placed upon your memory.
My name yours but a face shaded and jaded,
shamed,
as i have fallen from you." --[Mina Sol]

"My life is a life of observations
and mind numbing experiences.
My experience is a life of
pain felt for others--
empathy--and
unfounded pleasures
unsatisfied desires
fairly rounded into a perfect, compact little pebble." --[Mina Sol]

[Mina Sol]: and fer a little quote.

"Pain and suffering all around me
Wolf-cries of WAR,
pain and suffering
served BURRITO-STYLE worldwide." --[Mina Sol]

[Khisto] would like to input one of his little ditty's

"For five thousand years i have travelled wide
To avenge my kin from the cowards who hide
I remember that day when i came home to fire
Bought by the heretic, the sinner, the liar

For four thousand years i have hunted them down
Shown no mercy, given no ground
Taken their lives with a smiole and a song
Taken their blood so i may right this wrong

For three thousand years i have sought in vain
Left in the cold, the snow and the rain
Fought shadows in corners dark
Each time my sword, found no mark

For two thousand years i have cried each night
sooner or later i will lose this fight
Be sent down to the grave and the ground
Eternity will pass, i shall know no sound

For one thousand years I have harassed their ships
Gambled my life like i'm using chips
Fought my way to their mountain lair
Killed them all without a care

For one day now i have avenged my kin
Yet i cannot tell who i am within
I cannot live with the burdens I own
I cannot survive i am truly alone

For one day now I have lain in that room
Blood seepingfrom my wrists, my doom
War is not the way to win
War cannot save one's skin"

Ok so it got quite depressing there but...

Off I go
To places unknown
And a destiny far from norm.
'Tis a thing of both love
And hatred true,
To a place to be alone.
Now away I bade you,
let me lie within my mind.
For it be naught that I fear the world,
I wish to leave it behind...

2004-02-01 [cheesecake]: I like the "I feel this tearing..." by Mina Sol and "for five thousand years.." by Khisto. Lets see how I do.

2004-02-15 [Mina Sol]: hey thanks a lot.. yours is good, so i'd say you did pretty well, cheesecake ^_~

2004-02-18 [SecondRisings]: I like the poem about the dreamers, cheescake. ^_^ The rhyme is very flowly and doesn't seem to stop up the rhythem too much.

2004-02-21 [cheesecake]: Thanks!I feel honored.

2004-02-29 [Mina Sol]: If you guys could just put a divider between your poems (it looks like this < h r > without the spaces), so its easier to tell where one ends and another begins, i would appreciate it.. Thanks, [Mina Sol].

2004-02-29 [Mina Sol]: sorry guys until i figure out how to divide my page into separate pages i'll have to place a password on it for a bit.. if someone knows how to do that, let me know. otherwise you could send me poems in messages, and if you want i'll try to put them in here.. sorry again, but its only for a few days..

2004-07-02 [Kaimee]: Incase anyones interested, the Town Herald Poetry Corner is open again and looking for poetry for our next issue :)

2006-05-30 [Linderel]: Hey, you've been included on the listing of Poetry communities. I hope you'll get some life in here again. :)

2006-07-03 [Linderel]: Hear, hear! Springing forth with a challenge, the admins at Solemn Lines have decided to bring all poetry communities of Elftown together in a tournament of skill. During July, members of each community that answers our call will choose a representative among themselves - the procedure for that will be up to you, but make sure that come August, you're all ready to roll and cheer your champion on. Get ready, ladies and gentlemen, for the World Cup of Poetry, hosted by Solemn Lines!
